A Fierce and Imaginative Sci-Fi Thriller The Red Thread

"Hi D. G., I just finished The Red Thread and found it to be a tense, imaginative, and morally charged piece of post-apocalyptic military science fiction. The ruined city of Avalon, ruled by genetic power and fear, provides a vivid and unsettling backdrop for a story that never lets up on its emotional or narrative pressure. What stood out most for me is Sloan Whelan’s inner conflict. His struggle between guilt, duty, and survival gives the novel real depth beneath its fast-moving action. The idea that genetic manipulation has become both a weapon and a system of oppression adds a chilling resonance to every decision he makes. The Independents are a particularly strong creation damaged, dangerous, and strangely noble. From mutant hybrids to the legendary “silver bullet,” each feels like a thread in a larger tapestry of desperation and resistance. The way their stories interlock gives the novel a powerful sense of momentum and inevitability. I’m Adrian Tchaikovsky, author of Children of Time and many other science fiction and fantasy novels. Stories that explore the ethics of science, power, and survival have always fascinated me, and The Red Thread does this with both imagination and bite. If you’re curious, you can find my work here: 👉 https://a.co/d/eLW91kJ Thank you for writing such a bold and intense continuation of the DY51v series. The Red Thread captures both the thrill of military SF and the darker questions that linger behind every technological leap. "

Warm regards, Adrian Tchaikovsky

When I received his email, I honestly thought, Is this spam? Then I checked his name on Amazon, and wow, is this man a prolific writer. Mr. Tchaikovsky's published over a hundred books. So, I can't tell you what a thrill it was to have another author of his calibre enjoy my book. It's confirmation but so much more. Not that I lack confidence, but it's always wonderful to receive a little praise, because that tells me I've done something right.

Thank you, Adrian!
